Sean “Diddy” Combs has faced a continuous string of lawsuits since his arrest in New York last September. He was indicted by a grand jury “on three counts of racketeering, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution.”
Despite his official trial starting May 5, there are still over 100 plaintiffs that are accusing the former mogul of sexual abuse and violence — with some alleged crimes occurring when the victims were minors. Recently filed lawsuits include a Jane Doe that “accused Combs of drugging her and forcing himself upon her during an incident in 1999” and “a complaint from an anonymous male escort that claims Combs sexually assaulted him and then threatened him to keep quiet by allegedly saying, ‘If I can get Pac [Tupac] hit, what the fuck do you think can happen to you?’”
Recently, a lawsuit has been refiled to include two high-profile celebrities, further complicating the already evolving legal challenges surrounding Diddy’s reputation in both the entertainment and music industries.
What the new lawsuit alleges
Druski and OBJ have a long-standing friendship, one that was strengthened during the COVID-19 pandemic when quarantine brought them closer together. They got along so well that the football star invited the comedian to stay at his home to isolate — that’s how you know the friendship is real.
Unfortunately, both are now making headlines for all the wrong reasons. In October, a lawsuit was filed by Ashley Parham, along with an unnamed Jane Doe and John Doe, accusing Combs of abuse, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and sexual assault and battery. The lawsuit was amended on March 7 to include OBJ, Druski, Combs’ mother Janice Combs, blogger Jacquelyn “Jaguar” Wright, and eight other co-defendants.
Parham claims she first met Combs in February 2018 through a FaceTime call between the former mogul and Shane Pearce, a man she was involved with at the time. During the call, Parham made a claim about Diddy’s involvement in the 1996 murder of rapper Tupac. She further alleges that the following month, Pearce set her up to be assaulted by Combs at Pearce’s apartment due to her claims.
Parham claims that Druski (previously identified as a John Doe) was told by Combs to assault her. She alleged that the comedian “‘doused’ her in lubricant and jumped on top of her, ‘knocking the wind out’ of her ‘due to his enormous size.’ She claims Combs masturbated while recording the assault. She also accuses Pearce and Beckham of taking turns assaulting her during the ordeal.”
Since the amended lawsuit became public, several individuals named in the case have responded to the allegations.
Both Druski and OBJ deny the allegations
In a statement released on March 9, Druski firmly denied the allegations, calling them a “fabricated lie.” He explained, “I wasn’t a public figure in 2018 — I was broke living with my mom without any connections to the entertainment industry at the time of this allegation, so the inclusion of my name is truly outlandish.”
While Druski had started posting skits in 2017 and launched his fake record label, Coulda Been Records, in 2019, it was during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020 that his comedy career truly skyrocketed, thanks to his impersonations and growing friendships with influential figures in the rap scene, including Jack Harlow.
Meanwhile, OBJ responded to Druski’s statement with thoughts of his own.
On March 9, he wrote, “Boy I’ll tell u what. This world makes absolutely no sense. I am covered by God. He will prevail. I kno who am I, I kno who u are, keep ur head. That name will be cleared. Shxts stupid.”
Combs’ team responded the following day, calling the new complaint part of a broader pattern. The statement read, “this new complaint — brought by an attorney who has already been sued for defaming Mr. Combs — demonstrates the depraved lengths plaintiffs will travel to garner headlines in pursuit of a payday…”
Druski and OBJ aren’t the only celebrities to have been dragged into Combs’ growing list of lawsuits. Last year, rapper Jay-Z was added to a refiled lawsuit against Diddy, accusing him of being involved in an assault at the afterparty of the 2000 MTV Music Awards. Jay-Z strongly denied the allegations, and the lawsuit was later dropped. Now, the Brooklyn rapper is suing the accuser for defamation.
The ongoing case has drawn attention not only because of the serious accusations but also due to the involvement of several high-profile figures. With Combs’ team calling the new lawsuit part of a broader effort to generate headlines, it’s still not clear how the legal proceedings will play out. Hopefully, though, the right parties are brought to justice.
