It’s been nearly a decade and a half since Rockstar dropped GTA V and turned us all into digital criminals with bad spending habits. Since then, we’ve gotten presidential campaigns, pandemics, a new Pope, AI girlfriends — and still no GTA 6. Just two cinematic trailers and a whole lot of trust issues.
Recently, though, the floodgates have cracked open, and now everything is leaking. In the last few weeks alone, fans have spotted teaser plates in Travis Scott visuals, dug through Rockstar job listings like they’re in the CIA, and connected enough dots to fill a corkboard.
Leaks are landing daily, trailer theories are flooding Reddit, and all eyes are locked on August 7—the day Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two, holds its next earnings call. In this fandom, nothing’s ever just a coincidence.
So let’s get into it—because if Rockstar won’t talk, we’re more than happy to scream into the void on their behalf.
How much will GTA 6 actually cost—and earn?
According to projections from gaming VC firm Konvoy, GTA 6 isn’t just about to break the internet—it’s about to break the bank. They’re predicting Rockstar’s next title will hit $7.6 billion in revenue within 60 days of launch.
The forecast assumes an $80 price tag and a wild $2 billion budget—though Rockstar hasn’t confirmed any of that. Still, Konvoy’s betting that GTA 6 will make that money back in less than a month, becoming the biggest launch in gaming history. Even Take-Two’s CEO chimed in recently, saying the value of the game goes way beyond the sticker price. Translation? Whatever Rockstar’s charging… they know fans will pay it.
Is Travis Scott in GTA 6?
Leave it to Travis to break the internet with a two-second visual clue.
In the JACKBOYS 2 video for “2000 EXCURSION,” fans spotted a Ferrari flashing a Florida license plate that reads “GTA VI6.” That one frame was all it took for Reddit to spiral into radio station theories and potential collabs.
Is it a hint at a Cactus Jack takeover of GTA 6’s airwaves? Maybe. Is it just a slick Easter egg with no deeper meaning? Also maybe. Considering that La Flame already threw a record-breaking concert in Fortnite, the idea of him turning Vice City into Coachella doesn’t sound that far-fetched.
Still, nothing’s been confirmed. Not by Scott. Not by Rockstar. And in case you thought this was a one-artist rumor: nope. Producer Jermaine Dupri already hinted that Drake has his own station. T-Pain and DJ Khaled have also been thrown into the mix. At this point, if you’ve ever touched a mic and owned a PlayStation, someone thinks you’re on the GTA 6 soundtrack.
Is Rockstar leveling up GTA Online for GTA 6?
GTA 6’s single-player is already sounding insane… but if this leak is even half true, then its multiplayer might just melt your console.
According to a recent Medium post by alleged insider Fravilys, GTA Online is getting a full-blown upgrade for GTA 6 — and it’s not just a new map with fresh missions. We’re talking GTA Online 2.0, allegedly codenamed “GTA6MP,” and it’s supposedly cooking up something way bigger than we’ve ever seen.
Right now, OG GTA Online caps out at 32 players per lobby. Fravilys, though, has alleged that Rockstar’s aiming to double that. The next version could start with 64 players per session, with hopes of hitting 96 in the future.
This new version might let players from different lobbies link up in real time without having to leave their own session. Translation? Seamless multiplayer. No loading screens. No “joining new session” messages. Just pure, chaotic criminal energy.
Of course, Rockstar hasn’t confirmed a thing, and they probably won’t anytime soon. If even some of this turns out to be real, though? Get ready to clock in even more hours on your gaming system.
When’s the third trailer for GTA 6 going to drop?
With two GTA 6 trailers already in the bag (but no real gameplay shown) the internet is begging, screaming, crying for that third trailer to finally drop.
And now? We might have a date to circle on the calendar (in red Sharpie): August 7.
As spotted by the always-online folks over at GTA 6 Countdown, Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two Interactive just so happens to have a nice little investor earnings call scheduled that exact day. Coincidence? Please.
Historically, Rockstar loves to line up their big reveals with investor calls to get Wall Street hyped and fans frothing. So now, everyone from Reddit detectives to TikTok conspiracy theorists are convinced that Trailer 3 is dropping around that time, and that it’ll finally give us the full look at gameplay we’ve been waiting for since the dawn of time (or since GTA 5 dropped).
Any word on GTA 6 gameplay?
A new report from the X account GameRoll revealed that the game is allegedly packing not one, not two, but three separate story modes. You’ll be able to play as Jason, Lucia, or run it Bonnie-and-Clyde style and play as both.
The story will apparently be told across five chapters, and the world is filled with over 700 enterable stores. Yes, you can rob them. And yes, that apparently includes full-blown shopping malls that are actually functional, not just window dressing.
If that wasn’t enough to make you sweat, the leak also claims Rockstar cut some features like dual-wielding, going prone, and dynamic cover systems—because, in GameRoll’s words, those mechanics were “complete a**.” Not even trying to sugarcoat it.
While this all sounds like wild speculation, GameRoll does have some credibility—they correctly leaked the names Jason and Lucia before Rockstar’s official reveal. So… yeah. You might want to keep an eye on what they post.
Why’s everyone eyeing Rockstar’s job board?
As spotted by @GTAVI_Countdown, Rockstar’s been making some very interesting hires lately. According to ComicBook.com (via GTA 6 Countdown), the studio is now bringing on 12-month contract workers to translate GTA 6 into a bunch of languages.
On its own? Sure, sounds like standard localization. When you pair that with the fact that Rockstar is also hiring Marketing Localisation QA Testers, it starts to look a lot like they’re gearing up for the final stretch. After all, why would you hire marketing people if you don’t have anything to market?
It’s not full confirmation that development is done, but it’s about as close as we’re gonna get without someone from Rockstar actually blinking in Morse code.
Between the Travis Scott Easter eggs, leaked game modes, multiplayer chaos, and Rockstar’s marketing moves, all signs are pointing in one direction: it’s happening.
Will Trailer 3 actually drop on August 7? Who knows. Will we be listening to JACKBOYS while getting chased by other criminals in neon jet skis? Hopefully. Will the internet explode the minute Rockstar hits upload? Absolutely.
One thing’s clear, though: GTA 6 isn’t just a game anymore. It’s a cultural event — And whenever Rockstar decides to pull the trigger, we’re all going down with it.
