Live Like Michael Jordan For $1 Million a Week

You wanna be a baller? Shot caller?

Argue all you want in the comments — Michael Jordan is undeniably one of the GOATs of basketball. The basketball legend has given us historic memes, a sneaker empire that only keeps growing, and a legacy that shaped the game we know today. Oh, and don’t forget his estimated $3 billion net worth — with that kind of success, you can bet he’s owned some awesome properties.

His real estate portfolio includes a nearly 10,000-square-foot vacation home with sweeping views of the Utah mountains, a lakehouse in North Carolina with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Lake Norman, and a sprawling three-acre estate in Florida. No big deal, right?

His most iconic property, though, is back in Chicago — Champions Point. Sounds familiar? Travis Scott shot the “Franchise” music video there — and now you could also stay there. Sure, it’s going to cost you a lot — but with nine bedrooms, an infinity pool, and, of course, an enormous basketball court, it might be worth the splurge.

How did MJ’s mansion become a timeshare?

Jordan’s former Chicago-area mansion, Champions Point, spent a lengthy 12 years marinating on the market before local real estate mogul John Cooper secured the bag for $9.5 million in late 2024. Originally listed at an eye-popping $29 million in 2012, Cooper scored quite the bargain — and, naturally, has big plans for the place.

He’s offering a select few the privilege of living like basketball royalty with a price tag to match. Operating as a timeshare (think: vacation property where a bunch of people chip in for a slice of the action), the mansion is available for bids starting at a casual $1 million for a week’s stay — plus an extra 2% of the annual upkeep, estimated to run about $25,000 per co-owner.

Cooper envisions Champions Point as a perfect getaway for sports enthusiasts who want to vacation while also balling out like Jordan. “Our goal is to create a shared experience where co-owners can enjoy unparalleled amenities and also the sense of connection and community that comes with it,” he said in a statement.

What are the available luxury amenities?

The 32,000-square-foot mansion has everything a baller can dream of. Some of the amenities include:

  • Nine bedrooms that can accommodate up to 20 people
  • 19 bathrooms (because sometimes, it’s not about where you pee, but how many options you have)
  • Fitness center
  • Putting green (MJ loved to golf)
  • 14-car garage
  • Wine cellar
  • Library with drop-down movie screen

If you want your friends to join in on the fun, you are in luck. The co-ownership shares, according to Cooper, can be resold — but everyone must sign an NDA, of course. If you’re feeling extra fancy, you can even host events like weddings, complete with on-site entertainment and chefs. Die-hard MJ fans can tie the knot in front of the “23” gate.
