In a sport as competitive as Hip-Hop, sometimes you gotta beat a GOAT to be a GOAT. NBA YoungBoy, the new generation’s resident hitmaker, has issued a challenge to anybody in the rap game: beat him in a 15 vs. 15 song competition, or quit rapping. And he’s called out Future as his first competitor.
That, however, wouldn’t be a walk in the park. Future is a chart-topping, multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated superstar. It would be incredibly hard to dethrone him, but could YB pull it off?
While it’s unlikely a Verzuz between the two would really go down, we took a look at some of the details, and who would possibly come out on top.

Since 2017, YB has been a fixture on the Billboard charts, with various songs cracking the list nearly every year. He’s the youngest artist in history to have over 100 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, and is the most RIAA certified artist in history—having 126 plaques with his name on them. On top of that, he’s racked up over 15 billion views on YouTube, consistently dominating the platform’s viewer count across all artists and genres.
Along with his ridiculous stats on YouTube and the charts, he also does numbers on streaming platforms. As of Feb. 2026, he’s sitting at 18.5 billion total streams and counting, gaining 10 million more per day.
Lastly, since a Verzuz would incorporate a bit of a performance element, we have to acknowledge YB’s knack for putting on an amazing live show. His “MASA Tour” went crazy, becoming one of the top 8 highest-grossing rap tours in history—and the highest-grossing for a first-time headliner.
Add that to the fact he’ll be one of the main acts for 2026’s Rolling Loud Festival, YB can stand toe to toe against just about anybody.

Future’s Streaming Numbers, Sales, and Accolades
Although he debuted quite a few years prior, Future has become one of the GOATs of the streaming era, ushering in a new sound and inspiring many of the artists we hear today. But outside of just his influence, his numbers back up any claims people have about him being one of them ones. As of his latest release, 2024’s ‘Mixtape Pluto,’ Future has had 217 songs enter the Billboard Hot 100, the third highest total of all time.
He also has 11 No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, which ties him for third place this century.
Now, while NBA YoungBoy dominates YouTube, Future is definitely one of the streaming kings. He’s sitting at 55M monthly listeners on Spotify, and has a total of 51.2 billion streams (and counting). Each day, he sees another 18M tacked on to that, and they won’t be going down anytime soon.

NBA YoungBoy vs. Future is truly an example of a battle between generational artists, both of whom have had a massive impact on the rap game. While YB might be the better performer, Future’s records have had more longevity, and damn near every album goes #1 as soon as it hits the streets.
It’s hard to say for sure who would win, but if they ever make this happen, we’ll be tapped in and ready to call a winner.
