On July 6th, Nicki Minaj kicked off what can only be described as a full-blown digital dragathon, unleashing hellfire across multiple timelines and giving the Barbz enough content to spiral for weeks. It wasn’t your average industry shade or vague subtweet. No, this was Minaj in scorched-earth mode — airing lawsuits, hurling accusations, and casually name-dropping everything from paternity tests to unpaid millions like it was a Sunday morning grocery list
If you thought the drama was confined to Megan Thee Stallion’s diss track from earlier this year (“HISS,” which had already turned things sour), you’d be wrong. Very wrong. This time, Minaj decided to not only drag the Houston native’s recent woes into the mix. She decided to aim higher—like Roc Nation corporate ladder higher. Jay-Z got pulled into the mess. So did his alleged son. And then came Desiree Perez, Roc Nation CEO, now rebranded as “Desirat” in the Church of Onika.
Overall, Minaj went on a full-on timeline tirade fueled by years of bottled-up rage, alleged unpaid Tidal equity, and maybe a little boredom. Let’s get into it.
Megan Thee Stallion’s Lawsuit Woes
The first blow landed on Megan Thee Stallion (AKA Megan Pete), just as reports resurfaced that a harassment lawsuit involving Megan’s former cameraman, Emelio Garcia, would proceed to trial. Right on cue, Minaj dropped a not-so-subtle caption:
“What was the name of that law again??????? Karma’s Law? Touch not my anointed law? Vengeance is the Lord’s law?… the blogs posting lies, thank you. More money for me. We’re working. Trust.”
Fans quickly connected the dots. Not only did the post seem timed to the lawsuit news, but it also looked like a callback to Megan’s 2024 track “HISS,” where she raps:
“These hos don’t be mad at Megan, these hos mad at Megan’s Law…”
The lyric references the federal law requiring public disclosure of registered sex offenders — a pointed nod to Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, who is on the registry himself.
As for the lawsuit itself: Garcia alleges he was harassed over his sexuality, degraded in front of others, and ultimately retaliated against after witnessing an alleged sexual encounter between Pete and another woman in a car. He claims he was pressured to remain silent, demoted to per-task pay, and ultimately fired in June 2023. A judge ruled there’s enough evidence to move forward with the case, despite Pete and Roc Nation denying all claims.
Nicki Minaj Calls Out Jay-Z: “You Owe Me Hundreds of Millions”
Next, Minaj pivoted to Jay-Z, resharing a headline about his alleged son, Rymir Satterthwaite, and sending her well wishes.
Satterthwaite has spent years trying to get a court-ordered paternity test, citing a brief relationship between Jay-Z and his mother in the early ’90s. So far, Jay-Z has stayed quiet and there’s been no confirmation if he’ll comply with testing.
Minaj wasn’t done, though. She also accused Jay-Z of owing her between $100 million and $ 200 million, claiming he tried to pay her off with a quick $1 million to stay silent. Instead, she said she’d use the funds for her Barbz’ college tuition and her Student of the Game charity initiative.
Nicki Minaj Brings Up Roc Nation’s “Desirat”
The final act in Minaj’s meltdown was reserved for Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez, whom she mockingly dubbed “Desirat.” Minaj shared a video alleging Perez physically abused her daughter, Demoree Hadley, and used her power to have her institutionalized wrongfully.
According to a June 2024 report from NBC6, Hadley filed a lawsuit claiming Perez and her sister falsely accused her of attempting suicide, leading to her being held in a facility for two weeks. The lawsuit also alleges Perez tried to sabotage her daughter’s marriage by making up domestic violence charges against Hadley’s husband. Both Hadley and her husband deny the claims, and the case was dropped in April.
Then things got weirder. In follow-up posts, Minaj veered into her infamous 2021 vaccine rant territory, once again referencing her cousin’s friend whose testicles allegedly swelled up after a COVID shot. Yes, really.
What started as a lawsuit headline quickly snowballed into paternity drama, alleged unpaid millions, and vaccine anecdotes no one asked for. From legal digs to full-on character assassination, Minaj spent July 6 airing out long-held beefs with the kind of energy most people only reserve for burner accounts.
Neither Pete, Jay-Z, nor Perez have publicly responded. The Internet definitely did, though — some shocked, some laughing, and others begging someone (anyone) to take her phone away. If you’re wondering whether this is the end…come on. It’s Nicki. This was probably just Act I.
