Three Major Rap Albums Might Be Closer Than We Think

Summer 2026 could be legendary, just hear us out.

Rap has been in an amazing place in recent years. 2024 was home to the biggest (in terms of scale) rap beef in history. 2025 saw new artists and established legends flourish like never before. And based on the albums that have dropped so far, and those still to come, 2026 is setting up to be a banger.

And if these three artists have anything to say about it, Summer 2026 is about to heat up.

Young Thug Announces ‘DBC: A Day Before Coachella’ Album

Since Thug has been free, there’s been no shortage of activity on his end. From building out the new YSL roster to dropping UY SCUTI, he’s been back outside in a major way. And it looks like he’s ready to hit the streets hard with a new album titled A Day Before Coachella.

Information on the album is relatively light, but he’s been hinting at being musically busy. From riding around with Lil Baby, to being on stage with new YSL affilates diamond* & Tezzus, he’s definitely been in the mix.

But more than just popping out and showing face, we got some definitive proof he’s been in the booth. On Feb. 18, he and Nav linked up for “TRIMSKI” and dropped the accompanying video on Feb. 24.

With Thugger scheduled to perform at Coachella on April 12 and April 19, we’ll have to wait and see what his next move will be.

Future Says He’s In Album Mode, Drops “Styrofoam”

While we got the title for Thug’s next project, but no music that directly ties into it, the Future situation is the inverse. Future has been hinting at new music since his return to Instagram in January.

But more than just posts, we’ve gotten snippets, teasers, and a named track. A short video for “Styrofoam,” produced by longtime collabor Southside, dropped on Feb. 23.

That said, in 2026, everybody has to deal with the slimy business of leaks from unverified sources. Even crazier, some artists have been accused of leaking their own music to test the waters and gauge the reception. Over 150 Future tracks surfaced, one of the biggest batches of leaks in recent memory.

Future, however, says he wants nothing to do with that because he knows the new album goes crazy.

There’s no date for this one either, but as soon as we know, we’ll be tapped in.

Travis Scott Tells Fans “New Album OTW” Amidst Rumors of Ye Collab

Now, compared to the other two, a lot of the info about new Travis Scott music is rumors and speculation, and for good reason. While Trav himself has been saying he has a new album on the way, no snippets or titles have come along with those statements. He did drop another clue about the album’s name, though, in a recent autograph for a fan, by writing 10 letters, hangman-style, under “new album otw.”

But the real bomb here? There have been rumors circulating that there’s a Ye and Travis Scott collab album in the works, which would definitely shake up the game—after all, their 2023 concert in Rome caused a literal earthquake.

These rumors might have some foundation, though. Aside from the fact that the statement came from Havoc, who should be a reliable source in this case, LaFlame also brought out Ye during the Japan Circus Maximus Tour stop in November. Add to that the fact they’re both set to headline Italy’s HELLWATT Festival in July? Yeah, somebody might be cooking with this idea.

Sure, the idea of all of these projects is still up in the air. We get it. But if they all end up landing? 2026 will definitely be a year to remember.
