Travis Scott Takes His Love for Baseball to the Next Level

Houston Astro fans got the La Flame treatment at the spring training opener.

Keeping up with Travis Scott’s February moves is exhausting just to read about. His Cactus Jack Foundation kicked off Community Action Week on February 11, packing in a series of impactful events. It started with Cactus Jack Night at the Houston Astros Youth Academy, giving young baseball hopefuls a night to remember. Then, he unveiled the 11th Cactus Jack Garden at Houston’s Highland Elementary School—an initiative dedicated to his grandmothers that helps provide fresh food for kids in need.

Scott kept the momentum going on February 13 with the Third Annual Cactus Jack HBCU Softball Classic, drawing celebrity guests like CJ Stroud, Metro Boomin, and Tyla. The event led into an HBCU baseball tournament featuring six top teams, all taking place at Daikin Park (formerly Minute Maid Park).

When you thought he couldn’t possibly do more, Scott launched the Cactus Jack Design Ethos 101 Program in partnership with the Fashion Scholarship Fund. This initiative awards students $10,000 each and offers mentorship for those wanting to create drip like Scott’s and beyond.

And he’s still not done. On February 22, Scott touched down in Florida—limited-edition merch in hand—to celebrate his hometown team, the Houston Astros, at CACTI Park, named after his hard seltzer brand.

What is CACTI Park?

In 2024, Travis Scott hit a home run—both figuratively and financially—by securing the naming rights for the MLB training facility that hosts his hometown team, the Houston Astros, alongside the Washington Nationals. Nestled in Palm Beaches, Florida—where retirees swap stories about the good old days between rounds of golf—the massive 160-acre complex boasts seating for nearly 8,000 fans, plus luxury suites and party decks for those looking to enjoy Spring Training in style.

CACTI Park is the result of a multi-year naming rights deal between Scott and the two teams—because what pairs better with America’s favorite pastime than a hard seltzer? As a bonus, the drink is also available at the concession stands.

The brand’s presence extends beyond the drinks. CACTI is plastered across the complex, appearing on merchandise, dugout signage, entryways, concession stands, pole banners, and even the scoreboard.

Travis Scott throws first pitch for Houston Astros

On February 22, Scott made his triumphant return to Palm Beaches to throw the ceremonial first pitch at the Houston Astros Spring Training Opening Day. With his home team playing against the Washington Nationals, the rapper made sure to show love to Astros pitcher, Bryan Abreu, and their iconic mascot, Orbit.

The game wasn’t just a chance to see Scott in the flesh—it also came with a prize for the first 2,000 fans through the gates: a limited-edition Scott bobblehead. Dressed in a CACTI baseball uniform and Scott’s signature braids, the bobblehead is destined to be a prized collector’s item among his legion of ragers.

And if you’re already itching for more baseball, don’t worry—the Houston Astros’ Opening Day is set for March 27 against the New York Mets. Even though Scott’s newly rebranded CACTI Park is only a year old, he’s already thinking big, hoping to one day change the name to “CACTI Stadium.”
