Social media and the current internet age has made the music world an open playing field, and artists are taking full advantage. Every few months, it seems like a new star is born, taking the world by storm in the blink of an eye. Enter Fakemink, 21-year-old UK underground sensation primed to drop his second album—and certify a new wave of artists along with it.
Before Terrified drops this spring, we’re getting you caught up on everything you need to know about Fakemink.
How Did Fakemink Get So Popular?
While fakemink seemingly “blew up overnight” (to some extent), his ascent is the perfect example of today’s road to stardom. He started producing around 2015, rapping in 2019, and started dropping full tracks on Spotify a few years later.
However, his first big song wasn’t some bullshit single that gets lost in the mix—it was a collab with soon-to-be superstar EsDeeKid, who went global just months later. It was only a matter of time before fakemink would have his time to shine.
At the tail end of 2023, he released his first album, titled London’s Saviour. But he was far from done. In 2024, fakemink dropped over fifty tracks and various EPs, ensuring people would see him whether they wanted to or not. Safe to say, the plan worked.
Fakemink’s Biggest Songs and Career Moments So Far
His balls-to-the-wall approach to flooding the year with music paid off big time in 2025. His track “Easter Pink” took off, he started gaining recognition from big hitters like Frank Ocean and Clairo. His persistence really paid off when he landed him an opening set for Drake at Wireless Festival.
Since then, fakemink has been having crazy motion. Playboi Carti had him pop out for the Antagonist Tour stop in LA on October 14—one of the biggest shows on the schedule. Then, he had a crazy November, landing a spot as a model for a Supreme x True Religion collab, and pulling up for his set at Camp Flog Gnaw just a few weeks after.
And while he has been on an upward trend, it hasn’t been without a bump in the road. He and one of his frequent collaborators, fellow new-gen star Nettspend, had a notable falling-out, with the latter going so far as to diss him on his last project.
However, they were spotted together right before the project dropped, so it’s possible that was recorded before they squashed any beef. We aren’t sure just yet.
More About Fakemink’s Upcoming Album, ‘Terrified’
As of March 14, fakemink says that the album is completed. Regarding how long it’s taken since he announced it? Not even his fault, it’s simply that our minds need to prepare. “D€L4Y€D C0S U ‘ r N0T R£4DY,” he claimed in a recent IG post.
But it’s not like he left his fans without anything to hold them over until the album drops. Back in January, he dropped a brief EP titled The Boy who cried Terrified, which only made his buzz even bigger—partially due to the attention it garnered from other artists, such as the previously mentioned Frank Ocean.
And while the album doesn’t have a specific date just yet, we have gotten some details, along with a potential release window. Terrified, scheduled for Spring 2026, was recorded entirely in England and will feature a heavy dose of live instrumentation. The engineering will be handled entirely by fakemink himself, as he intends to “design” the music like an architect or creative director.
With the amount of hype behind it, even from fakemink itself, we’re interested to hear what Terrified has to offer. We’ll be tapped in and let you know our thoughts when the album drops this spring.
