Since Young Thug was released from jail on October 31st, 2024, his last year or so has been the very definition of chaotic. From leaked calls to leaked verses, album drops, and performances, he’s lived the full street rapper experience—all in a couple of months. Rather than slowing down, though, he’s been more active than ever on the music side of things, popping out at courthouses, ComplexCon, and more. You know what they say: “Horses don’t stop, they keep going” (relax—we know it’s “hustlers”).
On September 26, Thug released his newest album, UY SCUTI, to a whirlwind of fanfare and controversy, with a 28-track extended “Supernova Edition” dropping just a week later. While the cover art—a photo edited to look like a White version of Young Thug—grabbed headlines, everyone was thirsting over any mentions of his former friend and YSL artist, Gunna. There were disses and jabs scattered throughout the project, like on the song “Dreams Rarely Do Come True,” but Thug has also had a few level-headed sitdowns, saying “there’s still love there.” Young Thug is Revamping His YSL Music Label
That uncertainty mirrors YSL’s roster situation. The label Thug built in the late 2010s now looks completely different. For context:
Gunna—one of YSL’s first and biggest signings (2017)—is speculated to have fulfilled his contract with The Last Wun in 2025, marking his final release under YSL.
Lil Keed—another early and beloved YSL artist — tragically passed away in 2022.
Yak Gotti & Lil Duke, both charged in the 2022 YSL RICO case, have since released music independently.
Strick, an early signee, appears to have gone independent since 2023.
In a few short years, the original YSL roster dissolved — but that doesn’t mean the label is finished. Thug seems to be in rebuild mode, and two new names define the reboot:
1300SAINT, signed late 2024—part of Atlanta’s distorted underground wave.
Tezzus, confirmed his deal in October 2025—another rising ATL figure that blends elements of rage rap with trap.
Both artists keep YSL’s Atlanta-first DNA alive—but represent a new, more abrasive generation of rap, far removed from the wavy, melodic trap foundation YSL was built on. But YSL’s not stopping there, 1300SAINT recently stated that the label is looking to sign even more artists:
Below, we check out some of YSL’s most moves to see what they’re cooking up for the future.
Young Thug’s Performance at ComplexCon 2025
ComplexCon 2025, which took place October 25-26, was home to various live sets from an array of artists. Thugger served as the headliner for the second day, treating fans to a series of hits from his discography. His setlist included tracks like “Digits” and “Surf,” and he brought out Quavo and Ty Dolla $ign as the icing on the cake.
Also during the performance, he got some help from 1300SAINT—the aforementioned new recruit to YSL’s team. They performed “Revenge,” track 17 on UY SCUTI.
Outside of performing his own music, Thugger also made some executive, label boss-type moves. Halfway through his set, Thug brought out Tezzus and diamond* to perform their July 2025 track, “bada bing, bada bØØm.” Tezzus is a recent YSL signee as well, so giving them the spotlight at such an event shows that Thug wants to ensure they get some attention.
Lil Baby and CBFW
Although it seems like just a few years ago when Lil Baby popped onto the scene, he’s now an established major artist and one of the pillars of YSL’s success. His most recent album, WHAM, did 130k first week and went on to claim the #1 spot on the Billboard 200. Even after his fallout with Gunna over the Thug situation, he’s been carrying YSL on his back and building up other artists in the process.
Back in 2024, Baby announced he was ditching the 4PF moniker for his label, opting to go with CBFW (Can’t Be F*cked Wit) instead. Fast forward to October 2025, and he announced a compilation album by the collective. The album features artists like Veeze, Rylo Rodriguez, and EST GEE, along with other label affiliates.
Though the CBFW label isn’t “under” Thug or YSL, they remain closely affiliated and continue to collaborate. Baby even gifted Thug a CBFW chain to show they’re still locked in, as always.
More on the Gunna Situation
The biggest question regarding YSL, and its future as a music label, is “What’s going on with Gunna?” His latest albums, One of Wun and The Last Wun, were both released under Young Stoner Life (one as recently as this year). Thug’s stance on Gunna? Well, that’s been anything but clear.
In a September interview with Big Loon (via the It’s Up There podcast), Thug discussed the love he has for Gunna and acknowledged that they’re brothers, but says things will never be the same.
Early YSL fans will always hold out hope for a reconciliation — but whether Gunna’s really done with the label or not, one thing’s clear: Thug isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
