Get ready, because Young Thug’s highly anticipated UY SCUTI is shaping up to be nothing short of a cosmic event. The album promises more than just big-name features from Future and club-ready hits. Fans are expecting something deeply introspective, too — a look inside Thug’s psyche post-RICO trial, mixing cosmic aspirations with grounded, personal reflections. Whether it’s unreleased vault classics or a posthumous nod to Lil Keed, UY SCUTI could be Young Thug’s most personal and genre-bending project yet.
From dream collabs and underground breakouts to emotional depth and rare unreleased gems, here’s what we have on our UY SCUTI wishlist — and why this could be the comeback album the world desperately needs.
More Future and Travis Scott Classics
Where would we be without the “government-mandated” Future and Travis Scott collabs on this album? “Money on Money” is just the latest in a long history of bangers Future and Thugga have blessed us with. 2017’s Super Slimey is still in heavy rotation and the water lines we should we worried about are “Patek Water.”
“That’s my twin…There’s me and then there’s him. … When you mention Thug you mention me. It’s like one.” Future said about Thug back in 2020. There’s nothing like working with family.
Speaking of day ones, Travis Scott and Thug have been locked in since 2015 when they co-headlined The Rodeo Tour with Metro Boomin—which felt less like a concert and more like the Avengers assembling in real time. Since then, they’ve given us generational anthems like “Maria I’m Drunk,” and TikTok gems like “Out West.”
Now that Thug’s back outside (and has been in the studio with Scott, Future, and Lil Baby), the group chat is clearly active again.
Opium x ATL Trap Vibes
Playboi Carti and Young Thug just linked up on “WE NEED ALL DA VIBES” for Carti’s album MUSIC, but let’s not act like this is their first rodeo. These two have been swapping energy since the Die Lit days with “Choppa Won’t Miss” and their unreleased catalog like “Up.”
If Carti was already lurking in the studio for his own project, there’s a very real possibility he left some bars (or at least some weird growls) behind for UY SCUTI. For the love of Whole Lotta Red, though—let it be Carti with the “normal deep voice.”
But Carti isn’t the only Opium signee we want to hear on the album. Thug’s first post-jail performance at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash festival confirmed he has a collab in the vault with Ken Carson. Allegedly titled “YUCK,” Thug brought Carson onstage to perform their song for the first time, and from what we heard—it’s heat.
The song was leaked online only hours after the preview, and the production leans more into typical Carson than it does Thug, but fingers crossed a more polished version makes the final cut (with more ad-libs).
YSL Bench Mob Appearances
With Thugga fresh out and reportedly back in the studio, now would be the perfect time for him to pull a DJ Khaled and scream “we da best” on behalf of the lesser-knowns, including:
- Lil Gotit: Basically YSL-adjacent royalty. He’s the brother of the late Lil Keed, and he’s known for tracks like “Burnt N Turnt” and “MF TRIMM,” which sound like Thug’s vocal cords hit puberty twice. Pair that with Thug’s ability to bend a melody like it owes him money, and you’ve got the makings of a family-style banger.
- Nine Vicious: The YSL signee is pure chaos in human form. His track “U Fancy” sampled Drake’s “Fancy” and even had Thugga quoting it. You put that energy next to Thug’s experimental side, and the song might not even follow time signatures.
- 1300 Saint: He gives off the vibe of someone who journals in Auto-Tune. His track “VENOM” is all mood and fog—and you know Thug loves an emotional left-turn. It could be Beautiful Thugger Girls 2.0 if they lock in.
Homage to Lil Keed
Lil Keed, who officially signed to YSL in 2018, was one of the most promising artists in Thug’s orbit. He and Thugga had chemistry that couldn’t be faked, delivering records like “Proud of Me,” that showcased their ability to bounce off each other like blood brothers in Auto-Tune.
After Lil Keed’s tragic passing in May 2022 at just 24, Thug has made it clear just how much Keed meant to him—calling him a son and honoring his legacy at every turn. A Keed feature on would be a full-circle moment. Thug’s return to music after everything he’s been through feels like the perfect time to honor the ones who can’t be here to witness it.
Veteran Thug Production
Features and lyrics are only half of the equation—the beatmakers Thug works with will set the tone for what this new UY SCUTI era sounds like. These are the producers we’ll be scanning for in the credits, tried and true, they all know how to make different facets of the rap superstar shine.
London on da Track
Been Thugga’s ride-or-die since way back. From crafting the Rich Gang anthem “Lifestyle” to producing key tracks on Beautiful Thugger Girls and Slime Season, London helped define Thug’s early sound. If you want Thug’s signature melodic chaos, London’s beats are essential. Plus, it seems like they’re already cooking up as we speak.
Southside
A staple of YSL trap. He has major contribution credits on projects like Super Slimey and recently helped bring the energy on “Money on Money.” His trunk-rattling 808s are perfect for Thug’s most aggressive bars.
ATL Jacob
A rising Atlanta beatmaker. He’s already produced “Sup Mate” on So Much Fun, and unreleased tracks like “Make It Home” but it’s always good to have If Thug wants fresh heat from the 404, Jacob’s the guy.
Pi’erre Bourne
Pierre’s futuristic keys powered major So Much Fun cuts like “Surf,” “Light It Up,” and “I’m Scared.” His spacey bounce matches Thug’s voice in a galaxy far, far away.
Metro Boomin
A Metro and Thug collaboration is a given. Metro actively supported Thug throughout his incarceration, and their working relationship goes waaay back. Thug even released Metro’s version of Business Is Business in 2023, and the duo frequently appears on each other’s projects. From “Hercules” and “Digits” to “Metro Spider” and “Trance,” you can always count on Metro to deliver a Thug hit.
First Day Out Introspection
Don’t let the cosmic album title fool you—UY SCUTI might sound like it’s orbiting Pluto, but we’re betting Thug keeps one foot grounded in reality. If PUNK was the vulnerable side of Thugger and Beautiful Thugger Girls was the genre-blurring heart, this album could be the convergence: emotional clarity wrapped in space-age aesthetic.
It’s his first full-length drop since beating the RICO, and that alone sets the stage for a different kind of flex. Not just “I’m free,” but “Here’s what it cost.” We wouldn’t be surprised if the opening track feels more like a cold diary entry than a victory lap. Narration from Brian Steel, his longtime attorney, who was ten toes down for Thug during the trial, would be even colder.
We’ve heard glimpses of this mode before—“Stressed,” “Droppin Jewels,” even unreleased joints like “Faith in Me.” UY SCUTI could be the full evolution: still out of this world, but stripped down where it counts.
