Enter the new face of soulful hip-hop, Fatti. Hailing from Baltimore, MD, Fatti’s latest album is Nobody’s Perfect. The Maryland emcee bears his soul on the new project, energizing and motivating listeners while remaining introspective and emotional.
“My music can put people in deep thought, help people feel like someone can relate to them,” said Fatti, “But depending on the person and the mood they’re in, my music might be something you go workout to, go grind, or get some money to, it just depends.”
The eight-track album is the culmination of the rapper’s efforts over the past few months. The Baltimore talent told RapTV, “My greatest accomplishment is me taking this [music] seriously, without that there are no bigger accomplishments to come.” The album touches heavily on themes of family, spirituality, and financial hardship, as Fatti draws from the heartbreak and loss he experienced in his own life including mourning deceased family members and toiling over lost lovers.
Fatti has been making music since his childhood. Drawing inspiration from some of the biggest names in hip-hop and R&B including, Jay Z, Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, Boosie, Marvin Gaye, and Sam Cooke. Fatti is also Flavor Flav’s cousin, so he has also been brushing shoulders with rap royalty for many years. After chilling with Busta Rhymes to opening for Public Enemy at the ripe age of 10, Fatti’s music recaptures and modernizes the rap music he grew up around.
Nobody knows for certain what the DMV’s hottest up-and-comer will drop next. All fans know for sure is that if Fatti’s next work is anywhere near as good as Nobody’s Perfect, he’s got nowhere to go but up.
