Hip hop star Cardi B has had a phenomenal year after releasing her debut album Invasion Privacy. Since it’s release last year and going three times platinum, the Bronx rapper has obtained countless awards from the Grammys, Billboard, MTV, Soul Train, BET and etc. and it looks like she might be on her way to adding some more to her list.
It was recently reported by Billboards that Cardi B will be making her way to the 2019 BET Awards leading with seven nominations. Some of those nominations include Album of the Year, Best Female Hi Hop Artists and the top prize of them all Video of the Year, which both of her videos “Money” and “Please Me” with Bruno Mars are nominated, giving her a 33% chance of winning.
Other stars such as Drake, Beyoncé and Travis Scott follow behind Cardi with multiple nominations as well. Drake will be heading to the BET Awards with five nominations while both Houston’s own Beyoncé and Travis Scott go in with 3. Even the late Nipsey Hussle obtained a nomination for Best Male Hip Hop Artist.
The 2019 BET Awards will take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California on June 23rd.
