Observing Kanye West’s aggressive tirades directed at his estranged wife Kim Kardashian in recent weeks, one might assume that he is ready to be free of any former marital attachments, despite the the statement that Ye made at the Los Angeles Mission’s Annual Thanksgiving event in November. But his actions seem to indicate otherwise.
If one takes note of Ye’s legal actions of late, it becomes clear that his tactic in these divorce proceedings is to delay the outcome at all costs. Take, for example, the legal documents that Kanye just filed. According to TMZ, Kanye is attempting to make all of his social media posts directed at Kim and her boyfriend Pete Davidson inadmissible in court.
A hearing is scheduled next week that will determine if Kardashian will attain “single” status under California law. Last Wednesday (February 23) Kardashian claimed “emotional distress” as a result of West’s social media attacks, evidence that is sure to affect the court’s decision to separate the two at the upcoming hearing.
But Kanye’s recent motion to exclude these interactions, based on the premise that Kim must prove in court that it was in fact Ye that posted the tirades to his own account, may delay the judge’s ruling because the court will have to consider Kanye’s motion before proceeding to the issue previously at hand.
TMZ reports that it is highly unlikely that a judge will accept Kanye’s argument, but the delay strategy remains intact none-the-less. Further evidence of West’s desire to delay the court proceedings comes in his attorney’s new argument that questions the legitimacy of their prenuptial agreement, something that could require a trial to fully resolve.
