Donald Dillingham, father of North Carolina high-school basketball phenom Robert Dillingham, says that his son is missing after visiting Kanye West’s Donda Academy, according to HotNewHipHop. West has been actively recruiting young stars to build a potential powerhouse basketball program to rival the likes of Sierra Academy in Southern California. Apparently Robert was on Ye’s short list of prospects, and West reportedly paid for the young man’s admission and flew him from NC to CA.
But Donald, who has joint custody of his minor son, said on October 13 that he has not spoken to his son in 21 days and that he never granted his son permission to attend Donda. Complicating matters is the fact that Donda Academy’s basketball coach revealed that Robert left the school and is not returning. When Donald called Donda Academy for answers, the father was reportedly told that they (the person(s) on the other end of the line) were informed not to speak with him. A recording of the conversation has reportedly been released.
Hollywood Unlocked Reports also exposed in an exclusive article that Robert’s father was not aware of the transaction until he learned about it on TV, and it was subsequently brought to his attention that Kanye “pressured” Robert via FaceTime. Ye reportedly said, “…are you coming here or are you going to let it go.”
Robert’s mother, who shares joint custody with Donald, has reportedly not responded to any of Robert’s requests for information on this matter.
