It is almost certain that Kanye West will open his first private school sometime in the near future after the Simi Valley Acorn – a Ventura County, CA publication – reported on Tuesday (September 21) that Donda Academy Inc. requested a permit change of occupancy from its former owner on August 30.
Further confirmation came when @dondasplace posted a brief mission statement on September 2 that all but guarantees that the institution will become a reality. The tweet stated in part, “Donda Academy: Finding the intersection between faith and the innovation of the future.”
According to a ReMax “For Lease” advertisement for the parcel that will house Donda Academy, the land is a “3.69 acre private school campus with 5,728 square feet of improvements consisting of classrooms, lab space, offices, kitchen, restrooms, storage, a basketball court and a large open field.”
Donda Academy will be a tuition-free, K-12 school that will serve 60 students, according to Rap-Up.
