Despite his impressive accomplishments in the music industry and business world over the last few years, Lil Durk continues to show the world that he is hungry in more ways than one. With a post yesterday to his 5.6 million Twitter followers, Durk made it clear that academic achievement is also on his long list of things to do.
After Durk’s father was arrested in 1993 and sentenced to two life sentences, the rapper was for all intents and purposes fatherless for his entire childhood. If one couples that with the fact that Lil Durk lost multiple close friends and family members to gun violence while in his 20’s, the fact that Durk has risen above it all – becoming a top-selling recording artist and attaining business success through multiple dealings, such as a partnership with Beats by Dre in 2021 – is not only impressive but extremely inspirational.
Lil Durk has used his widespread fame and notoriety to inspire change, speaking out on important issues that are personal to the 29-year-old such as justice reform and gun-violence. Now Durk can add education to that growing resume.
“I’m going to get my high school diploma. I want to challenge myself on goals and real life situations,” he said yesterday.
Therefore, Lil Durk’s star is not only rising but he is leading by example, inviting other disadvantaged young men and women to come along for the ride.
