After procuring a death certificate, TMZ reported yesterday that Fetty Wap’s daughter, Lauren Maxwell, died of “fatal cardiac arrhythmia due to complications of congenital cardiac anomalies,” or heart defect complications. Lauren was born with heart problems including an irregular heartbeat. Though she passed on June 24, there has been a lot of media attention directed back at the story after Fetty Wap and Lauren’s mother, Lisa Pembroke, posted tributes for her recently on social media. Fetty Wap posted a heartfelt post on Instagram Live earlier this week, tearfully thanking fans for support and saying in part, “She was my little twin.”
Similarly, Lauren’s mother Pembroke, also known as Turquoise Miami on social media, earlier paid tribute with a picture of Lauren saying, “This is my amazing, beautiful, funny, vibrant, wonderful, talented, smart and hardheaded princess mermaid Aquarius.” But today, Pembroke is outraged at TMZ for breaking the story without all of the facts. She took to Instagram with a since deleted post, according to HipHopDX, that read:
“THAT IS NOT THE FULL CAUSE OF HER DEATH THAT IS WHY THE AUTOPSY HASN’T COME BACK! HOW DARE YALL GO STEAL MY CHILDS BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND ANNOUNCE THE CAUSE OF DEATH BEFORE ANYBODY WAS READY. THERE IS A REASON WHY! HER AUTOPSY ISN’T BACK YET ASSHOLE.”
Then, on Instagram Stories, she continued with the heart-wrenching message, “I’m tired of my privacy being invaded. I’m tired of people lying on my child…Y’all love breaking news so bad but this is my life and it’s me without my daughter and none of y’all. I feel the loneliness every night not none of y’all.”
As of 11:40 am EST, TMZ has not removed the story from their website. Lauren was 4 years old.
