Anyone that saw Nipsey Hussle’s Celebration of Life Ceremony knows that his older brother, Samiel “Blacc Sam” Asghedom, was Nipsey’s right-hand-man. He recounted how he tried desperately to perform CPR on his dying brother and he was the last person Nipsey saw before he passed away.
It turns out that the deceased rapper didn’t have a will for his estate, valued at over $2 million. Sam wants to take over as the administrator of Nipsey’s estate and assume leadership of all business affairs in his absence. His reasoning is that since his brother’s unexpected demise, there are matters that require his oversight in order to keep Nipsey’s legacy moving in the right direction. Blacc Sam filed a petition stating that “[Nipsey’s] passing has created significant media attention, which, in turn has presented potential time-sensitive business opportunities…”
It makes sense that Blacc Sam would assume this role since he was the mastermind behind the original Crenshaw clothing line that helped launch Nipsey’s The Marathon Store and brand. The Marathon must continue and who better to keep the flame burning than Nipsey’s closest friend and relative? If the court responds in a reasonable manner it will allow Sam to carry the torch for his late brother.
