Is Xxxtentacion Still Alive?

Ever since the violent Florida shooting death of 20-year-old hip hop artist and rapper XXXTentacion, also known as Jahseh Onfroy, on June 18th 2018, conspiracy theories regarding the actual finality of this event have been circulating online.

Is XXXTentacion still alive? Is Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, the real name XXXTentacion was given at birth, still low-key roaming the Earth?

The rapper’s death which occurred in Deerfield Beach was confirmed by the local Broward Sheriff office. Even XXXTentacion’s manager released a statement on social media stating that XXX “tragically passed away from a gunshot wound.”

Arrests have also been made for the young men responsible for this crime, so it is hard to justify that XXXTentacion is still breathing air. But that doesn’t stop the minds of millions of XXXTentacion fans from wondering, is XXXTentacion still alive and ready to release new tunes like the posthumous music from other famous rappers?

Hype After Death

When asking, is XXXtentacion still alive, one thing is for sure, his music is. On April 28, 2020, RapTV tweeted out that: “”Moonlight” by #XXXTENTACION now ranks among the top 100 most streamed songs in Spotify history with 958M streams.”

When it comes to the types of gossip that has been spinning around the rumor mill since his murder was announced, it isn’t just that Here are some of the conspiracy theories and false rumours, ranging from that he could still be alive to the suggestion that he may have predicted his own passing.

Faking His Death

There has been steady fan speculation that the rapper is still alive and kicking, and that all that really happened was that he faked his own death, no matter what the authorities have clarified.

The roots of this rumor may have been firmly planted on Twitter when a video was shared that depicts a XXXTentacion publicity stunt where he appears to fake a suicide. Ultimately, these assumptions were buried by the fact that this wasn’t just some trick, it was an actual music video for the posthumous album.

Twitter user, @vasinvain made a suggestion that the star must have pretended to die to avoid  “the amount of conspiracy in his life along with the overwhelming fame.” If not that, the other option that was presented was that it was to promote a new single possibly called ‘No Pulse.’

This particular Twitter XXXTentacion enthusiast dug deeper into it by stating how the crime scene showed in the music video had “no blood, no shattered glass, no bullet holes” and that the XXXTentacion’s forehead tattoo doesn’t exist in the video for some reason, assuming that this person might be some kind of actor pretending to be the rapper.

Just how do old videos like this cause such confusion in the first place? While he was alive, XXXTentacion shared a clip that featured the rapper taking his own life. But after the fact it was later revealed that this imagery was being used as a publicity stunt to drum up excitement prior to the rapper’s ‘Look At Me’ music video that was released in September 2017.

After XXXTentacion’s actual death, an old video began getting around the internet at jet speed with the rapper saying that he was still alive and well and that his so-called ‘death’ was just part of a promotional music video.

There were quite a few fans that were under the impression that the video was current. This clip in question was dated back to August 2017 and was in reference to the ‘Look At Me’ publicity stunt.

The constant reoccurring themes of XXXTentacion dying have continued even after his death with the posthumous music video for the song ‘SAD!’, showing him visiting his own funeral.

Predicting His Death

During an Instagram Live video shortly before his murder, XXXTentacion raised some suspicion surrounding his eventual death, stating to the camera:

“If worse thing comes to worst, and I f**king die or some shit and I’m not able to see out my dreams, I at least want to know that the kids perceived my message and were able to make something of themselves and able to take my message and use it and turn it into something positive and to at least have a good life…”

“If I’m going to die or ever be a sacrifice, I want to make sure that my life made at least five million kids happy or they found some sort of answers or resolve in my life regardless of the negative around my name, regardless of the bad things people say to me.”

XXX supporters believed that this clip represented his final Instagram Live video before his demise. But it wasn’t actually confirmed just how old or how recent that video actually was after it was posted.

The Need for Beefing Up Security

Attorney David Bogenschutz, XXXTentacion‘s lawyer has made it known that claimed he urgently suggested to the rising star that he was in serious need of expanding the security detail he had around him to protect his life.

David Bogenschutz summed up how he advised XXXTentacion to beef up security:

“We talked about him needing security, that he was past the point of being a kid making melodies on a street corner.”

To make matters more tragically sad, ironically XXXTentacion didn’t even have any security guards around him during the time of his death on June 18th, 2018.

Drake vs. XXXTentacion

In some of the more crazier gossip moments, there were even fans that went so far as to think that lyrics from Drake’s song ‘I’m Upset’ were some kind of foreshadowing of XXXTentacion’s death.

On “I’m Upset” Drake raps:

“SMS, triple X / That’s the only time I ever shoot below the neck / Why you keep on shootin’ if you know that n***a dead?”

What would cause people to make that leap? XXXTentacion had a previous beef brewing with record-breaking international superstar Drake after suggestions that he ripped off the flow of ‘Look At Me’ with the More Life track ‘KMT.’

Drake hasn’t answered back in regard to all the hype and drama that these type of allegations by fans stirred up at the time.

But like all the other theories and rumors about XXXTentacion’s life and death, he has never had a problem remaining alive in the minds of millions.
