Headlines yesterday that Kanye West confirmed a follow-up album to Donda, titled Donda II, have largely been replaced today with a story that Ye is under investigation for criminal battery, according to Fox 11.
The LAPD revealed that this morning (Thursday January 13) around 3 a.m. in downtown Los Angeles, Kanye engaged in some sort of an argument with a male “fan” near the Soho Warehouse, and it turned violent. Kanye allegedly pushed and punched the man, knocking him to the ground. At some point the fan reportedly asked Kanye for an autograph but further details are not known at this time.
A video surfaced of the aftermath of the incident that shows Kanye visibly distraught and yelling, “Did y’all say that or not? Did y’all say that or not? Cuz that’s what happened right f***ing now.” The video also seems to show that the two figures at which Kanye is yelling appear significantly shorter than Ye who stands at a humble 5 feet 8 inches tall. It is not clear that these two figures were involved in the altercation and there is currently no other available information about them. The video can be viewed here.
The case is under investigation and charges of misdemeanor battery carry a jail sentence of 6 months in L.A., according to TMZ.
TMZ also reports that Kanye and Julia Fox were partying at Delilah in WeHo, but Kanye left the club alone. Kanye has not responded to questions from the press.
