The cultural legacy of Bay Area Hip Hop is the subject of an upcoming documentary on NBC called “Culture of Hip Hop“. The hour-long exploration of Bay Area artists and their music is a deep dive into what has continued to make the Bay Area an influential part of the Hip Hop landscape.
President and General Manager of NBC Bay Area Stacy Owen had this to say in the show’s press release. “The Bay Area is home to a thriving Hip Hop scene, producing legendary artists who paved their own road, and emerging talent who are using their skills and creativity to express the reality of life in our neighborhoods… In ‘Culture of Hip Hop‘, we’re able to connect with the people behind the personas and show why hip-hop is more than just a music genre.”
The doc will feature Bay Area Hip Hop Legends Too Short from Oakland, E-40 from Vallejo, as well as relative newcomers like
