Notorious for their authenticity, Lyrical Lemonade has made it clear that they are very precise with who they choose to spotlight at their festivals. Cole Bennett is on pace to create the largest independent music festival in the country as there were over 40,000 guests in attendance at this year’s Summer Smash Festival.
Here are the Top 5 sets that we saw at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash:
Baby Keem
The hype surrounding Baby Keem’s name is REAL and since his appearance on Kanye West’s ‘Donda,’ all eyes have been on him. Keem took advantage of this hype to preview his new record dropping with Kendrick Lamar, ‘Family Ties.’
The crowd was in sync with Keem’s energy and it will be amazing to see more performances from him as we approach the release of his next album, ‘The Melodic Blue.’
Don Toliver
It is very evident that Don Toliver is close with Travis Scott after seeing his performance. Don T is very dedicated to giving his fans a show and it is evident that he is putting all his efforts into his craft.
Don also previewed a new song at the festival and is anticipated to be releasing another project soon – so be on the lookout for any other opportunities that arise for you to see him live.
Swae Lee
Rae Sremmurd is the hip-hop due that consists of Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi.
Swae Lee shared the same stage with Yachty on the first day and the timing was perfect as he began his performance right as the sun began to go down.
Swae Lee began his performance with the records No Type, No Flex Zone, Blasé, and showed the crowd exactly why he is the Rockstar and entertainer that he is notoriously known to be.
Lil Yachty
Lil Yachty is a certified entertainer and his Summer Smash performance is perfect evidence for that.
Yachty started off his set by captivating the crowd with ‘Get Dripped’ featuring Playboi Carti, and the crowd reaction was as expected:
Lil Yachty also brought out some of his closest friends in the industry, which included Adin Ross, Ski Mask the Slump God, and Draft Day, an up and coming artist who has featured Yachty on his song Keri Hilson/Shootout.
Yachty’s setlist was arranged in a tasteful manner that included all of his greatest hits such as Minnesota, iSpy, Broccoli, Mase in ’97, One night, and so much more. Watching Lil Yachty perform Yacht Club and seeing the energy reciprocated from the audience is a memory that many attendees will never forget.
Lil Uzi Vert
Cole Bennett had brought Lil Uzi Vert to Chicago for the first time ever back in 2016, seeing him come around full circle to headlining the Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash Festival is amazing.
Lil Uzi is one of the most exciting artists to see live because this man’s passion for his music just radiates from his energy on stage:
If you ever have the chance to see Lil Uzi Vert live – it is definitely something that we can confidently say you should make happen.
What We are Looking Forward to Next Year
As Lyrical Lemonade continues to expand as a brand and creative outlet, we are very exciting to see the direction that the Summer Smash Festival will go in the coming years.
The fact that this independent festival has shown so much success says a lot about the authenticity and intentions behind the efforts put into this by Cole Bennett and all of the various teams and affiliates.
We will continue to look forward to the new up and coming artists embrace the platform given to them by Lyrical Lemonade.
