“We did search the known locations that we thought he may be at, but we didn’t have any luck finding him,” Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Jedidia Canty said.
When police arrived at the crime scene early Sunday morning (3:30 AM), Canty said they found Orr unresponsive. “Upon deputies arrival they observed a Black male lying on the floor with a gunshot wound,” she said. Paramedics rushed Orr to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The rap community mourns Trouble’s passing. “We know that there are a lot of people who are really upset right now and brokenhearted about the situation,” Canty said.
34-year-old Trouble started rapping at the age of 14, but became his career took off with the release of his 2011 mixtape, December 17th, which was number 23 on Complex‘s “The 25 Best Mixtapes of 2011.” In 2013, XXL included Trouble in the “15 Atlanta Rappers You Should Know” list, and in 2016, Trouble appeared on rapper YFN Lucci’s single “Key to the Streets,” which peaked at No. 70 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Trouble’s tragic killing adds to a rough streak the Atlanta rap scene has faced recently. It happened days after Metro Boomin’s mother was killed by her husband and on the heels of Young Thug, Gunna and numerous other YSL members being arrested for conspiracy to violate the RICO act. A judge denied Thug and Gunna bond, and the rappers will remain in jail until their trials begin in January 2023.
