UnitedMasters is in the news for big reasons. What’s new is UnitedMasters and ESPN entered into a multi year agreement. Under the new contract, artists from UnitedMasters can now submit their music to be featured on ESPN shows like Sportscenter, The Jump, or First Take.
UnitedMasters is a music distributor started in 2017. UnitedMasters puts the power in the artists’ hands, helping them distribute to all streaming services. The service helps its artists expand their fanbase and earn more revenue. UnitedMasters assists in artist advertisements, brand partnerships, and other helpful services. It also helps artists see their streaming and social media data.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with ESPN. They have a massive platform with the potential to make a career-changing impact on up-and-coming, independent artists… The UnitedMasters ‘Select’ roster will serve as an unparalleled library of new and untapped music, and we can’t wait to hear our artists on ESPN shows for years to come,” the CEO of UnitedMasters said.
UnitedMasters has a remarkably unique feature called “Select” which is certain to shape the way the music industry works in the future. This service helps artists keep the entirety of the royalties. This is wildly valuable as there are countless tales of artists who were swindled and prevented from earning a living off their own music creations. The UnitedMasters’ “Select” service helps accelerate the restructuring of the music industry and empowers artists who do not have access to typical music industry insiders – typically those coming from minority communities.. The service may effectively democratize the music industry and further facilitate the promotion of effective music career decisions.
The partnership between the two companies will expose ESPN’s audience to music and culture that reflects the diversity of the UnitedMasters’ artist catalog. ESPN President said that he and the company were looking forward to the collaboration and excited to be “giving up-and-coming artists a platform for national exposure to showcase their music to a broad, diverse and engaged audience of fans.”
Beginning with its start in 2017, UnitedMasters has put its artists first. This tactic has begun to see success as some of the artists on the platform achieved significant commercial success. Most notably, the rapper, NLE Choppa is a UnitedMasters artist. Up and coming artists Lil Tecca and Future Kingz also work with UnitedMasters. It is reported that UnitedMasters boasts more than 400,000 artists, and a catalogue spawning more than 500,000 tracks.
Looking forward to hearing unknown talent on ESPN in the future.
