Mama Monster has been a bisexual mystery to most but came out with a new love on her arm by making it Instagram Official after the Super Bowl. Who is he? Let’s find out!
Meet Michael Polanksy
According to friends, Lady Gaga is totally head over heels for her new guy. So who is he, exactly?
A Harvard graduate, Michael Polansky is the CEO of the San Francisco-based Parker Group and executive director of the Parker Foundation, which he co-created with Sean Parker, a tech bigwig who helped co-found major companies such as Facebook and Napster.
The Parker Foundation focuses primarily on four areas: Global Public Health Life Sciences, the Arts, and Civic Engagement. They work to target big problems where they can make a “catalytic impact” to tip a project into further success. Polansky also runs Parker’s Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy, which sponsors important research and grants for cancer treatment.
It is actually most likely that Gaga met Polansky through Parker himself, as Parker hosts many industry events such as the one where the Star is Born singer met and charmed Bradley Cooper into casting her. Sources say it was Parker’s birthday party where the two became immediately smitten with one another. An insider confides that the couple “likely have known each other for a while through events Parker has hosted at his LA mansion,” going on to say “Michael is a really smart guy, a very serious guy, who has always been low key. People are saying Gaga would have met him through events Sean Parker has hosted at his house, including the launch and other events for the foundation. Sean also had a party for his birthday in LA in December and both Gaga and Michael were there.”
While fans may be concerned about her new “normal” boyfriend – Polanksy’s net worth almost rival’s Gaga’s at between $300 and $600 million.
The two are already working together, collaborating on the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund which Gaga promoted for in April. Gaga recently announced that she wants to do more charity work and raise money to find cures for modern diseases – so it sounds like his work is already aligning with hers!
On April 18th she shared that Polansky was helping fundraise for those on the frontlines of Covid-19 with the response fund, posting to Instagram with matching ‘Together at Home’ merch, captioning the sweet photo “With some of my co-fundraisers @booconnor @michaelpolansky #oneworld #togetherathome Miss you @wanaynay our other co-fundraiser and producer and missing our other co-fundraisers @who & @glblctzn.”
Not only are they working together on Covid-19 relief, per her interview with People, Gaga said With Born This Way Foundation, my mother, Cynthia Germanotta, and our co-founder Maya [Enista Smith], who I love so very much—they are working with my, the love of my life on something for mental health.”
A source told Entertainment Tonight back in March that they both felt social distancing and quarantine was the right thing to do, and it’s given them time to spend together and focus on one another without work or any other distractions.
The Insider said that while they intended to keep their relationship more private that their strong connection inspired them to make everything public, “Gaga is really getting serious with her boyfriend, and the chemistry is undeniable.” At first, she wanted to keep it low key and quiet because she had just gotten out of a relationship and thought taking it slow would be good, but they had an immediate connection, so it was tough to keep under wraps. They were spending so much time together, she finally decided to post on Instagram to make it official.
After taking their relationship public on Instagram, the couple has been posting adorable selfies left and right. They have been sharing photos of themselves in quarantine together, with cute captions such as “Day 6 of self-quarantining! Going strong, playing video games and cards, and taking care of ourselves. Important reminder: keep your mind as stress-free as possible and your body moving. #selflove #selfcare #bekind try not to pass it in case you have it #corona it’s ok and so wonderful to stay home if you can! What a kind act for the world [red heart emoji].”
Deeply in Love
Gaga has recently become very vocal about wanting marriage and kids – she has been elaborating in interviews on her excitement at the possibility of becoming a mom and is “very excited” at the possibility. Gaga has been getting serious with Polansky during quarantine, with a source telling E! that she “has been dating the same guy for over a month. They’ve been seeing others since before the holidays, and she’s crazy about him.”
The source also confirmed that they had been dating since before the holidays – and previous to their balcony kiss and New Year’s sightings that “they had already been seeing each other for weeks.” The source also added that they are attached at the hip, saying “They’ve been out and about in Los Angeles and spending a lot of time at her house. She’s taking him everywhere she goes and they don’t want to be part.”
This love was entirely out of the blue and Gaga fell fast and hard, as an insider puts it – “She wasn’t expecting to get so involved so quickly after her last relationship, but she started telling her friends she was completely in love with him. Anyone that has spent any time with them can see the connection. They are completely smitten. Her friends haven’t seen her this happy in years. It didn’t take long for her friends to adore him too.”
An Ex Speaks Out
Lindsay Crouse, senior staff editor at The New York Times and Polansky’s ex, wrote an opinion piece for the New York Times on what it was like to wake up and find out that your ex was dating Lady Gaga. Crouse had nothing negative to say – and matter of factly acknowledged the positive impact it had on her in setting herself up for success.
“Lady Gaga is amazing. Comparing yourself with her is incredibly motivational, and I recommend you try it, regardless of how you relate to who’s dating her,” she says in her piece – encouraging everyone to up their standards to those of the people they admire.
“I went to a coffee shop. Did I want a large? Yes. For the event: Did I want my makeup done? I never had, but yes. And yes, I’ll get the lashes too. When I was emailed praise, did I forward it to my boss? Yes. Did I agree to do the work presentation I was anxious about? Yes. Yes, yes, yes. The point is, Lady Gaga is living the ambitious life that we keep saying women should embrace, “ the article goes on to say – a rallying cry to use new relationships as a way to empower, not to divide.
A very heartening and wholesome response to such news, which we could all learn a lot from next time we see an ex update their relationship status on social media.
We wish Lady Gaga and Michael the best of health, heart, and happiness – we look forward to seeing what great things they do together next.
