The famous YSL duo has been nothing short of amazing since they both arrived in the rap game. Gunna and Young Thug have consistently delivered hit singles and albums earning multiple gold and platinum plaques. The two Atlanta superstars have had a strong relationship in and out of the studio which has clearly translated to their hit-making recipe.
Every time Gunna and Thug get on a song together it has the potential to go platinum or gold at the very least. After months of Gunna releasing his summer album “WUNNA” it was only a matter of time until one of the albums lead singles went platinum. With the slime combination, these two managed to deliver yet another platinum record with “Dollaz On My Head” one of the hottest songs of the summer.
With over 1,000,000 copies sold on “Dollaz On My Head” this marks Gunna’s 25th gold and platinum record. Gunna has been a huge part of hit records with Lil Baby, Young Thug, Travis Scott, and NAV to name a few. It should come as no surprise that Gunna managed to come up with another platinum plaque off his most recent album.
The last platinum record with Gunna and Young Thug was Thuggers hit single “Hot” which was featured on Thug’s “So Much Fun” album which also went platinum as an album. We know these two are among the hardest working artists in the industry. Always collaborating and contributing to the success of Atlanta’s music.
We know that Young Thug has also confirmed he has a new album coming on Black Friday, November 27, called “Slime Language 2” a continuing project from “Slim Language” which was released in 2018. We can definitely expect a few Gunna features on this project and perhaps a few more plaques.
There is no denying that these two can produce a hit at any given moment. With “Dollaz On My Head” heading towards 20 plus million views on YouTube, endless amounts of TikTok videos, the single skyrocketed on all charts and social media platforms leaving RIAA with an easy prediction of going platinum.
Congratulations to Atlanta’s favorite duo with this achievement even though they are probably used to it by now. We look forward to hearing more from Gunna and Young Thug this year, stay tuned for Thuggers “Slime Language 2” and Gunna’s “Drip Harder 2” coming soon.
